J.Renee’ Shoes Participates in “Footwear Cares” National Community Service Week Sponsored by Two Ten Foundation, April 21-27.

J.Renee’ Shoes announces their volunteer participation on April 25th and April 26th, in the newly coordinated, Two Ten Footwear Foundation, National Footwear Community Service Week. The foundation has 65 footwear organizations that are uniting the week of April 21-27th which is during the National Volunteer Week. Some 3000 volunteers will be in 45 cities.
J.Renee’ Shoes, a ladies shoe and fashion accessory company in Carrollton, Texas will be providing volunteers to the Metrocrest Social Services food pantry on two days during the event. Metrocrest Social Services (MSS) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide emergency assistance and comprehensive programs to move families toward self-sufficiency. Their services include rent and utility assistance, employment assistance and financial training. The agency also runs a food pantry which is the area where J.Renee’ employees will assist with everything from receiving donations, stocking shelves and helping clients shop. Tips for Giving Your Shoes a Longer Life
Today people spend a lot of money on buying shoes that they love. It’s always so disappointing when our shoes don’t hold up the way we hoped they would. First of all, it’s important to buy the best quality shoes. Quality materials and construction make a huge difference in the longevity of shoes. But it’s also good to know how to take care of your shoes to ensure that you are able to enjoy them for many years to come. Shoes are prone to wearing out quickly simply because of the daily wear and tear they endure. But there are some certain things we can do to keep them in their best condition. Below are some tips to give your shoes their longest life:
- Make sure to lift up your feet when you walk. Dragging your feet can damage your soles and heels over time.
- Give your shoes plenty of space when storing. Piling them up in your closet or under your bed is an easy way to destroy them. Use shoes boxes or an over-the-door shoe organizer so that shoes are less likely to get ruined.
- Stuff white tissue paper into your boots and shoes to maintain their shape.
- Make sure your feet and socks are clean before putting on your shoes.
- Try to rotate your shoes. Daily use will wear on any shoe. It’s a good practice to let shoes air out for at least 24 hours.
- Wipe off shoes with a clean cloth and remove anything that has stuck to the sole of sides of your shoes during use.
- Polish your leather shoes on a regular basis. This is not only a great preventive measure, but can make many shoes look like new!
- Replace your heel caps once the heels have become worn. A good cobbler can do this for a relatively low cost. This should be done for all shoes that over five years old.
- Let shoes completely dry out if they’ve been out in the rain.
- Be weary of buying used shoes on Ebay or other second-hand stores. There’s no way to know how those shoes have been stored or cared for and they may not hold up as well.
